Low temperature storage tank is a vertical or horizontal double-layer vacuum insulated storage tank used to store liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide and other media. The liner is made of austenitic stainless steel; The outer container material shall be Q235-B, Q245R or 345R according to the national regulations according to the different regions of users. The inner and outer container interlayer shall be filled with insulating material pearlite or aluminum foil, insulation cotton and vacuumized.

According to different process requirements and media storage methods, cryogenic tanks are defined as three types of tanks: single container tank, double container tank and full container tank. A single container tank is generally composed of a steel inner tank and an insulation shell, while a double container tank and a full container tank are composed of a steel inner tank and an outer tank made of steel or concrete (generally prestressed concrete). The insulation is located between the inner and outer tank walls, and the double container tank is mostly used.

Features of low-temperature storage tank:

1. Low temperature storage tank adopts vacuum insulation, and the insulation material is pearlite.

2. The top liquid filling design has a porous filling structure, which can make the cryogenic liquid stable when filling the inner container. Some gas phase in the inner container can be absorbed and liquefied at low temperature to maintain the relative stability of gas phase pressure in the inner container during filling.

3. The supporting structure between the liner and the shell is supported by the upper stainless steel strap and the lower stainless steel pipe. Under the normal working position (vertical) of the equipment, the gravity load of the tank and its storage medium is transferred to the shell through three stainless steel tubes, and then transferred to the shell legs and equipment foundation to avoid additional eccentric torque load. This structure also guarantees the need for free shrinkage of the tank under low temperature conditions when the equipment is working.

4. The low-temperature pipeline is led out from the lower end of the tank, which is convenient for operation and maintenance. In order to ensure that the tank can store cryogenic liquid stably and safely, the tank is equipped with multiple safety devices and instruments: level gauge, pressure gauge, outer cylinder explosion-proof device on the interlayer, combined safety system on the inner tank, and pipeline safety valve.
